Industrial Fans Improve Safety And Efficiency

The best time of the year to have a new building put up is during spring and summer as there is less chance of rain, snow, or other weather related events to slow construction down. During these times of year though the heat gets to be an issue when people are working on uncompleted buildings that do not have a cooling system in place yet.

A solution is this problem is to bring in a portable high power industrial fans that can be used to circulate the air to help cool the workers off. These fans can be place on the floor and angled to reach the workers, or they can be hung from open rafters to help blow the hot air down and away from the top of the building.

It is fair to say that a jobsite which is too warm makes its occupants feel tired and listless. Even minor deviation from comfort may be stressful and affect performance and safety. Workers already under stress are less tolerant of uncomfortable conditions. If any chemicals are used or present in the materials the workers are dealing with then the fans also serve the dual purpose of keeping anyone from becoming overwhelmed by the odors or possible toxins.

There are also industrial versions of portable water coolers that can be placed on construction sites that can be used to lower the temperature to a comfortable working range. These usually sit on the ground or floor and the vents can be directed towards the area in need of cooling. If the water reservoir is big enough and has a hinged door, one could even put ice chunks in to help cool things down even more. Care should be taken not to lower the temperature to much as the change from the heat outside could also cause problems when going from one area to the other.

The same types of industrial fans that are used on construction jobs can also be used by fire fighters to make their jobs easier and safer. Typically though, they will be floor units instead of suspension units. They can blow the smoke out of the way so that the fireman can better see what is going on around them. After the fire has been put out, they are also used to clear out the smoke so that damage can be assessed and possibly the residents can re-enter and continue to use the building.
